LumiPhase™ - Scientifically tested

A double-blind, side-by-side comparison study of 53 photoaged subjects found an overall improvement of 58% in skin surface characteristics (roughness and depth of rhytides using PRIMOS digital profilometry measurements and clinical data). Patients were treated three times a week, for four weeks. Other clinical results included improvement in skin texture, pore size and redness. Histopathology specimens showed evidence of new collagen formation. No side effects were reported.

The result of this intensive research is the new LumiPhase-R™, an innovative LED device for skin rejuvenation. Using a proprietary sequential pulsing mode at a wavelength of 660 nm, and combining optical positioning and high-power density, the LumiPhase-R™ is designed to provide faster, safer and more efficacious treatments on larger surfaces than current photothermal light technologies.

Proprietary sequential pulsing mode

The main advantages of LEDs over lasers are their ability to treat larger surfaces and to induce greater clinical response via unique sequential pulsing modes. LumiPhase-R™'s proprietary sequential pulsing mode is the result of extensive in vitro testing of multiple parameters (wavelength, pulsing patterns, irradiance, etc.) on monolayers of fibroblasts and, subsequently, on reconstructed skin (epidermis and dermis) in order to determine the most efficacious mode. Our research has demonstrated that optimal parameters (mode A) can trigger a significantly higher procollagen secretion versus control over 11 treatments, from normal human reconstructed skin of two adult females aged 42 and 64 years.
